# GitHub integration

> Connect GitHub to Islo, understand what it enables, and check which Suggested Lines need it.

Give Agents access to selected repositories so they can read code, inspect issues and pull requests, and open or review PRs. GitHub is required for onboarding.

## Connect in the dashboard

Open [Manage → Integrations](https://app.islo.dev/integrations), select **GitHub**, and select **Connect**. You can also connect it in the onboarding wizard's **Connect tools** step.

Install the Islo GitHub app for the organization and repositories you want Agents to use. If you cannot approve the installation, ask an organization owner. **GitHub approval is pending** lets you continue onboarding, but it blocks creating and running your first Line until approved.

## Connect with the CLI

```bash
islo login --tool github
```

Complete the browser authorization, then return to Islo. See [Authentication](/cli/authentication) for team and personal connection scope. Agents use the connected tool through the [gateway](/cli/gateways).

## Which Suggested Lines need it?

All current Suggested Lines require GitHub: **Ship a planned ticket**, **Triage a bug**, **Review every new PR**, and **Plan a ticket**. The PR review Line can be your first run with only GitHub connected.

Check the requirements shown on the [Suggested Line](/use-cases/suggested-lines) before deployment. Connect a missing tool or choose a Line whose requirements you meet.

## Next steps

Follow the [quickstart](/getting-started/quick-start) to create your first factory. Once it exists, [delegate work](/operate/delegations) from a connected tool or [configure an integration trigger](/concepts/triggers) to start work automatically.
